Uniting the Community One Shoebox at a Time

In partnership with the United Way, 8 NoVA area stores decided to assist their 2014 Shoebox Project. This project, driven by the United Way, collects shoebox care packages that contain basic need and emergency preparedness items. These decorated Shoeboxes are donated to disconnected youth, veterans, and homeless in surrounding communities. The 8 sweetFrog locations not only offered space serving as collection sites, but employees rallied to support the cause by donating items and encouraging customer participation. They also held a fundraiser in all 8 stores with the United Way to support their DO MORE 24 project.

As a promotion, stores asked customers to bring shoebox donations into the participating locations, or purchase a pre-filled package, in return for a 25% off coupon. Although, it seems that the coupon wasn’t the driving factor in donation, the sense of purpose and support of the community was infinitely more rewarding for our NoVA area customers!
