Cotton Candy is a Staple at Sweet Frog
ZANESVILLE - Though the menu changes often at Sweet Frog, the frozen yogurt shop keeps certain flavors on a permanent basis - chocolate, vanilla and cotton candy. “(Cotton candy) is one of our most popular flavors,” said Cammie Bunting, shift manager at Sweet Frog. Chocolate and vanilla are classic, popular flavors, Bunting said, so the shop always has those. But now that the weather is beginning to warm up, more and more people are coming into the shop, many of them are after cotton candy. “The cotton candy’s definitely a different flavor,” Bunting said. “It’s kind of fruity.” It goes well with plenty of the toppings, she said, such as the fruit or the Nerds, but many people like to pair it with a candy topping the shop calls cotton candy crunch. “There are a lot of combinations you can use with it,” Bunting said. As the weather warms, Sweet Frog has become busier, often in the evening, and the shops summer hours have been posted for the season. The shop, located at 3259 Maple Ave., opens at 11:30 a.m. every day.The changing frozen yogurt flavors also prompt a rotating array of toppings, Bunting said. Currently, the shop has an apple pie flavor of frozen yogurt, and with it a graham cracker topping is available. Customers can get frozen yogurt as healthy or as unhealthy as they want, she said. Non-dairy and no sugar added flavors are available, and fruit is always a possible topping. “We offer a vast variety of toppings that are always changing depending on the season,” she said.
